Code of Conduct
Effective Date: 14/12/2024
This Code of Conduct outlines the framework that all Members of Geelong Motoring Enthusiasts Inc Car Club are responsible for observing when participating in any event under the banner of the Club. By applying for and being accepted as a Member, you unconditionally agree to adhere to the following principles:
- Respectful Behaviour
Treat Event Organisers, Officials, Committee, Members, Volunteers, Sponsors, Attendees and any other stakeholders with respect at all times. - Compliance with Directives
Accept and abide by all directives and requirements given by a Volunteer or Committee Member during an event. Any Member, or guest who engages in behaviour deemed inappropriate or detrimental to the event—such as using offensive language, inappropriate conduct, or disrupting the event's operations—may be asked to leave. Recurring incidents may lead to a ban, determined by the Committee. - Social Media Conduct
Adhere to the Geelong Motoring Enthusiasts Inc Social Media Policy and ensure that your online presence reflects the Club’s values. - Positive Representation of the Club
Represent the Club in a manner that reflects favourably at all times, ensuring no detriment to its reputation through your actions. - Respect for All Individuals
Respect the rights, dignity, and worth of every person you interact with, regardless of their age, gender, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation or ability. Refrain from any discriminatory practices. - Responsibility for Actions
Accept responsibility for your actions and maintain high standards in language, conduct, punctuality, and presentation. - Club Rules and Spirit
Operate within the rules and spirit of the Club, abide by the Club’s Rules, and respect the individuals administering those rules. - Zero Tolerance for Abuse
Refrain from any form of verbal, physical, or emotional abuse towards other Members or anyone you come into contact with. - Approval for Club Activities
Do not undertake any activity in the name of the Club without prior consideration and approval from the Club Committee. - Adherence to Legal and Social Norms
Maintain a balanced viewpoint, adhering to legal, road, and social rules, and act in a manner that aligns with the Club’s values. - Be a Positive Role Model
Be a positive role model for other Members and all individuals with whom you interact, promoting integrity, respect, and responsibility.
Disciplinary Action
Any breach of this Code of Conduct may lead to a disciplinary review and could result in suspension or expulsion from the Club, in accordance with the Club’s Constitution.
By being a Member of Geelong Motoring Enthusiasts Inc, you acknowledge and agree to uphold these standards and contribute positively to the Club’s environment.
