National Motoring Heritage Day – Sunday, 18th May 2025 Join us for National Motoring Heritage Day, an annual celebration of Australia’s rich motoring history and the passionate enthusiasts who keep it alive. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our vehicles to the wider community while enjoying a scenic coastal drive. RSVPs Are Essential! The pre-meet at Federal Mills will follow the usual Caffeine & Gasoline format, where members and guests can grab a coffee, check out an impressive variety of vehicles, and enjoy some great conversations before we hit the road for the cruise. From there, we’ll cruise through Drysdale, Portarlington, Indented Head, St Leonards, and Point Lonsdale, before finishing up at Queenscliff. Upon arrival in Queenscliff, we’ll enjoy a free club sausage sizzle, giving members a chance to catch up, admire the cars, and celebrate National Motoring Heritage Day in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This time, we’ll cruise through the picturesque roads of Maude and Steiglitz, enjoying the scenic route before arriving at our destination – The Meredith Hotel. The Meredith Hotel is known for its friendly service, delicious food, and refreshing cold beer – the perfect spot for a relaxed Sunday lunch with fellow motoring enthusiasts. ROUTE HIGHLIGHTS: • Departing from Batesford Roadhouse, we will take a scenic drive via Maude and Steiglitz. • Enjoy winding country roads and beautiful views along the way. • The route is approximately 45.6 km and takes about 55 minutes to complete. • All roads are sealed and suitable for all vehicle types. WHAT TO BRING: • Weather-appropriate clothing • A smile and a friend to enjoy the day with! SUITABILITY: • All Vehicle Types are welcome – from classics to moderns. PETS: • As much as we love our furry friends, pets won’t be suitable for this event. COST: • The cost of the event is whatever you choose to spend on food and drinks at the venue. Join us for a relaxed Sunday cruise along the scenic Great Ocean Road! 🚗💨 We’ll be meeting at Bunnings Waurn Ponds Car Park before setting off on a cruisy drive down the coast to Aireys Pub in Aireys Inlet. Once we arrive, we’ll kick back, enjoy some great food and drinks (responsibly, of course! 🍻🚗), and soak in the awesome atmosphere. This is a casual, friendly cruise – all cars welcome! Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, come along for a great day out with fellow car lovers. Another fundraising event - Geelong Hospital Childrens Ward (Toys), Barwon Health Foundation (Funding) In 10 years we have raised more than 20k, it would be great to continue this. It will be held at the Waurn ponds Homemaker centre (Bunnings, JB Hifi, etc) It's right at the end of the Geelong bypass so it will be a much easier drive for people coming from Melbourne. Turn in at the set of lights just after JB-HIFI. Our stickers will be on sale, funds raised from this helps cover ongoing costs like insurances and obtaining permits etc. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION* We can't stress enough that the behaviour of all people attending is paramount if we want these events to run in future. Bunnings and the police have gotten behind us again and are happy for FWY to take place as long as we follow these simple rules: -NO HOONING BEHAVIOUR Excessive engine noise, Skids, dangerous driving will not be tolerated. -NO drugs or alcohol to be consumed -NO fighting or abusive language -Follow all directions given by traffic wardens we need to make sure traffic flows in and out smoothly. Also please try and take your rubbish with you if you can't find a bin! There will be a police presence on the night. Not to hand out defects but to make sure people are following these rules.
